"Arco – it’s a rock climbing Mecca". So begins almost any story about this most popular rock climbing area in northern Italy. But Arco is also a major European sports and tourist center. Year-round, thousands of Europeans come here with families to enjoy sports and recreation. Rock climbing, windsurfing, hiking and cycling, sailing and ski resort. We are talking about the valleys of the rivers Sarca and Adige and the shores of Lake Garda, around the cities of Arco, Riva del Garda, Nago-Torbole…

Climbing is not the last place in a number of different activities in the area. Everywhere you look, there are rocks. The geological formation is limestone. Thanks to the shady gorges and mountain rivers, even in the merciless summer heat you can find comfortable climbing sectors, and in the coldest months – the sun-warmed walls. Rock climbing here is incredibly diverse, any climber will find suitable projects. There are sectors for beginners and small children: low rocks with good platforms under them, slabs with a positive slope. There are sectors with technical highest grade routes with overhangs and roofs, there are multipitches. Some cliffs are located near the dwelling and are equipped with picnic grounds, others – in the forest, on high slopes with beautiful views, above the water or near the beach, etc. There are popular places where you can always find rock climbers, but there are also deserted ones with long approaches. The area is compact well-maintained and pretty expensive. Many accommodation options: hotels, apartments, campgrounds. Camping sites in Arco include: Azienda Municipale, Camping Arco. We recommend to rent a car. In the center of Riva del Garda, there are supermarkets that work longer than other.

The mountains are covered with a network of equipped trails for hiking and cycling. Many viewpoints with beautiful panoramas and picnic areas. The Arco Valley is all about vineyards, apple orchards, kiwi plantations, and olive groves. There are many ancient castles, temples, narrow streets. And the Riva del Garda embankment looks like an ordinary seaside town with berths, yachts, restaurants and shops. And of course, in the days of rest you will not be bored!
