Kazbegi (Stepantsminda)

Kazbegi, located in the North and 1750 above sea level, is one of the most popular and touristic places in Georgia.

Distance from Tbilisi: 150 km (travel costs with mini bus: 8 GEL)

The touristic infrastructure is fully developed and you can find a wide range of hotels, guest houses and hostels to chose from, with the price starting from 15 GEL. You can also camp in the surroundings of the guest houses, if you prefer.

Mountain tourism is the main focus in Kazbegi (summit 5047 m), however, the establishment of a respective infrastructure for climbing is in progress.

The region is newly accessed and in progress apart from a few sport climbing routes.

Trad and multi pitch climbing possible.

If you pass the route by multi pitch, descent is possible from the back side of the mountain by the car route.

Height of the wall: 120 m, width: 200 m

Best time to climb: June-October

What you need: 60 m rope, 15 quickdraws, helmet
